NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, will develop renewable energy parks in Uttar Pradesh alongside Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL). According to NTPC Ltd.’s press statement, the collaboration supports the government’s energy transition goals and promotes clean energy infrastructure in the state.
The firms will collaborate on ground-mounted and floating solar projects in the Rihand reservoir and other suitable water bodies and land areas as part of the deal. Land-available renewable energy parks and projects are also planned. The consortium also plans a solar photovoltaic project to solarize Ayodhya. Both companies support clean and sustainable energy solutions through this program.
NGEL and UPRVUNL will form a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to meet the renewable generation obligation, flexibility in generation, and scheduling of thermal/hydro power plants by bundling renewable energy and energy storage, according to the announcement.
