Pioneering Water Conservation in the Textile Industry

RSWM Limited, the flagship company of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, was honoured as the 1st Runner-Up in the Innovative Water Management and Conservation category at the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2024-25. The prestigious award at Bharat Tex 2025 underscores RSWM’s commitment to sustainability and responsible water usage in the textile sector.

From February 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Bharat Tex 2025 is India’s largest textile trade fair, attracting global leaders in sustainable textiles. Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, and CITI Chairman Rakesh Mehra and other key dignitaries presented the awards, acknowledging industry pioneers driving sustainability efforts.

A Strong Commitment to Sustainable Water Management

Over the past three years, RSWM Limited has invested ₹84 crore in cutting-edge water conservation technologies across its manufacturing facilities. Its key initiatives include:

  • Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems : Ensuring 100% wastewater recycling, eliminating industrial discharge.
  • Low-Liquor HTHP Fiber and Yarn Dyeing Machines: Reducing water consumption by up to 50%.
  • PLC-Controlled Auto-Controllers: Optimizing water usage, cutting down processing time, and minimizing waste.
  • Counter-Current Washing Techniques: Multi-stage water reuse to maximize efficiency.
  • Innovative Moisture Extraction in Stenter Machines : Reducing both water and energy consumption.
  • Rainwater Harvesting : 24 wells and artificial lakes, improving groundwater recharge.

Through these initiatives, RSWM has saved 233,500 KL of water annually, setting a benchmark for sustainable textile manufacturing.

At Bharat Tex 2025, RSWM showcased its sustainability-driven innovations under the ‘Panchtatva’ theme, inspired by the five elements of nature:

Fire : Flame-retardant, UV-resistant, and heat-protective fabrics.

Earth : Organic, biodegradable, and eco-friendly textiles.

Water : Moisture-wicking and water-repellent materials.

Air : Breathable, anti-odor, and lightweight fabrics.

Space :High-tech, graphene-enhanced fabrics for performance textiles.

Visitors at the trade fair praised RSWM’s advancements in eco-conscious textile solutions, reaffirming its role in shaping the future of sustainable fashion.

A Leading Force in Global Textile Innovation

RSWM Limited, under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director Riju Jhunjhunwala, is one of India’s top textile manufacturers and exporters, serving over 70 countries worldwide. Its extensive production capabilities include:

  • 6.25 lakh spindles across 12 manufacturing units
  • 1,21,000 MT of greige yarn produced annually
  • 43,000 MT of green fibre produced each year
  • Recycling 183 crore PET bottles annually
  • Reducing 8 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually
