20-Year Pact for Green Hydrogen
Asahi India Glass & INOX Air Products Forge 20-Year Pact for Green Hydrogen, a testament to our long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation. This partnership is not just about the immediate benefits but also about the long-term vision of transforming the float glass industry into a more sustainable and environmentally friendly sector.
Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS), India’s premier glass manufacturer, and INOX Air Products (INOXAP) have embarked on a pioneering journey towards sustainability. This landmark 20-year offtake agreement for the supply of Green Hydrogen is a significant milestone and a testament to our commitment to innovation. It establishes India’s first-ever Green Hydrogen Plant for the float glass industry, setting a precedent for sustainable production. The use of Green Hydrogen in the float glass industry will significantly reduce carbon emissions, making it a crucial step towards a greener future.
Sustainable Partnership to Reduce Carbon Emissions in Rajasthan
Under the agreement, INOXAP will design, engineer, install, and operate a Green Hydrogen Plant that can generate up to 190 Tons of Green Hydrogen annually through electrolysis. Slated for commissioning by July 2024, the plant, powered entirely by solar energy, will supply 95 Tons per Annum (TPA) of Green Hydrogen to AIS’s greenfield float glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This strategic collaboration not only reinforces AIS’s commitment to sustainability but also brings us closer to a future with significantly reduced carbon emissions, a future that is brighter and more sustainable.
AIS’s Commitment to Green Energy Reinforces India’s Renewable Leadership
Rupinder Shelly, COO-Architectural Glass at Asahi India Glass Ltd, expressed pride in AIS’s role as a leader in green energy adoption within the float glass industry. The partnership with INOX Air Products signifies AIS’s unwavering dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and embracing sustainable manufacturing practices. With a vision to utilize 94% of its power requirements from green and sustainable energy sources, AIS is not just setting an example in promoting environmental stewardship and circular economy principles, but also reassuring the audience of its long-term commitment to sustainability.
Empowering India’s Energy Transition Towards Decarbonization
Siddharth Jain, Managing Director of INOX Air Products, emphasized the pivotal role of Green Hydrogen in India’s energy transition journey. By substantially reducing CO2 emissions and fostering renewable energy adoption, this collaboration echoes India’s unwavering commitment to a greener future. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is driving significant strides towards net-zero emissions by 2070, positioning itself as a global leader in sustainable development. The government’s support and initiatives have been instrumental in making this partnership and the Green Hydrogen Plant possible.
The partnership between Asahi India Glass and INOX Air Products signifies a paradigm shift towards sustainable manufacturing practices in the float glass industry.
