Agroforestry: Sequestering Carbon and Supporting Local Farmers

The company has already identified three key projects spanning four states across India, covering an impressive 20,000 hectares of land. On this land, Cleanmax plans to plant 16.5 million trees that will not only absorb carbon dioxide but also boost the income of local farmers by providing fruits, timber, and other natural resources.
Agroforestry has the potential to sequester large amounts of carbon, with each hectare of land expected to absorb approximately 40 tons of CO2 per year. Cleanmax estimates that this initiative could earn $19-$25 per ton of CO2 sequestered, offering environmental and financial incentives. Moreover, the trees will be geo-tagged, ensuring transparency and accountability in tracking carbon sequestration and forest growth.
