Rahul Chandawarkar is a Colva-based journalist and former editor. He is a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism ( environmental reporting category ) for 2009, a PR Strategist, Ironman Triathlete, and a YouTuber. His first-hand experience on Sernabatim beach in South Goa was taken with his permission from https://www.facebook.com/rahul.chandawarkar.

A few days ago, I picked up close to thirty 500ml plastic mineral water bottles strewn in just 150 meters on the Sernabatim beach in South Goa. After a thorough wash, I carried the plastic bottles home and gave them to our village milkman to use for his daily doorstep milk distribution. The few locals I spoke to confirmed that this was the handiwork of local fishermen. I intend to talk to the Sernabatim fishermen about this. Also, I guess carrying a large bag with you every time you visit a beach is essential.

If each of us takes initiatives like this, we will go a long way. A true Climate Warrior
